The Hunt is OVER!

By the sure grace of God I found an apartment yesterday after less than 3 hours of searching. Amazing! Not only was it right at the price I wanted to pay, it's a 10 minute walk from lake Michigan, the grocery store is across the street, my boy from IU's condo is a block away, it's a good neighborhood and it has:
  • all new appliances
  • all hardwood floors (original)
  • wide mahogany baseboard and crown molding (original)
  • granite counter tops
  • marble shower
  • brand new windows
  • plenty of closet space
Did I mention the building was just freshly rehabbed? Yeah, I'll be the first person to inhabit the apartment. It was truly a blessing and a great find compared to what else I looked at during the day. Pictures wouldn't be enough. I was almost sure the search was doomed when the agent took us to the first place, gross. It smelled like an old basement someone was murdered in and it just didn't suit my needs or personality. Another place looked like it had fire damage...then right before we were about to wrap it up, we went to the creme of the crop. I don't know why old girl didn't just take me there to start with.

Even though one of my boy's is waaaaaaaay on the south side, we'll have to work it out so we can all kick it downtown or something. I love my people and all, but Hyde Park was just a lil' too spotty for me to be going out of town all the time. Picture me coming home from a flight that's been delayed for hours to an empty apartment with just my draws on the floor and condiments in the fridge. I might spontaneously combust.

But that's not the case, and all I have to do now is go shopping for furniture, a TV, some bathroom stuff, a dresser, some new clothes, etc. I am so thankful for this apartment! I had some janky living situations in school so this is like being in the Trump to me. Stay tuned for the Chi-town address and new apartment updates.
