Let's Ride

I don't know about other people, but I love driving! I'm not a control freak or anything, at least not to an awkward degree. I just love the control, probably why I like driving stick more than automatics. Or it could be because I'm an overachiever ;) I hit gears for fun, just shifting for no reason. I'll buzz past somebody on the highway just to accellerate or if I'm being tested, but only if the odds are in my favor. I don't take sucker bets. It could be because my brother was such a car hog when we shared our first car in high school. I used to have to get the keys early and ride out quickly, otherwise I'd be forced to wait forever just to go where I needed to go and probably be late getting there.

That's neither here nor there though. I love hitting gas to a hype song and riding slow with the music low on mellow joint. I love being on a motorcycle and engine braking to catch a few looks or cruising quietly down a long road. I know gas is expensive, but sooooo whaaaaat?!?! I get a feeling of freedom that some people just don't understand when whether I'm taking car of business or joyriding. Besides, I get that crazy mileage now on the bike, and I won't even have a whip when I go to Chicago unless I rent one to go to a client site :( Actually, I don't know how long that's going to be the case. We'll see how long that lasts.

I need to get my motorcycle license this summer so I don't have to go through all this bull again. Maybe I should have titled this 'Let's Fly' because my frequent flier mile status will be nothing to mess with. I'll be flying all over this country like I have a trust fund.
